Conker Class - Term 6
In PE this term, we have been focusing on athletics which has been great preparation for sports day! This week in particular (WC 07.07), the children did a circuits-based class made up of five stations which involved tasks to help develop balance.
This week (WC 30.06) the children had a fantastic time with Jess from 'Rebound Fit' as the year 6 gift to the school. There was fun, sun, funky tunes and a WHOLE lot of bouncing. Huge thank you to the year 6 parents for kindly organising this!
In PSHE, we are talking about changes! This week's lesson (WC 23.06) was all about how we have changed since we were a baby, as well as what has stayed the same. Conker class absolutely loved seeing each other's baby photos and discussing how we knew who each baby was based on features that have stayed the same, while also noticing what has changed in their friends too!
This week (WC 16.06) we planted Nasturtium seeds to observe and measure plant growth! We will be completing plant diaries each week to record our observations in addition to our science unit all about plants. Conker class are very excited to watch their Nasturtium grow over the remaining few weeks of term!

This week (WC 09.06) we made sand sculptures inspired by Andy Goldsworthy's land art! We discussed how water may need to be added to make the sand hold its shape and then the children had a go at moulding and shaping into their own sculptures. There was some fantastic work!
This week (WC 02.06) we finished off our PSHE unit of 'Relationships' by celebrating our special relationships! We talked about those who were special to us and explained why they are special, before making labels to celebrate those individuals. Friends, family members and even a few pets were mentioned, all for really lovely reasons.
