Maple Class - Term 5

 

In Art, Class 3 have been learning about Viking knots and patterns. They have designed their own patterns and attempted to use overlay and block printing to create Viking patterns. In Maths, the children have been learning how to count in Roman numerals. They have been able to read and write Roman numerals up to 12. Finally, in History, the children research Danelaw and the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings shaped modern England. 

 

 

In Geography, the class have been investigating map symbols and using them to understand ordinance survey maps. The children recognised places, land uses and the importance of keys on a map. During our computing sessions, the children have been learning about coding and algorithms. They had to program 'Turtles' to move around a digital map, following a range of instructions. 

 

In PE, the children have been learning football skills with Swindon Town Football Club coaches. They were developing their dribbling and awareness skills. In Maths, the children have been continuing their fractions learning from last term and have been finding the fraction of an amount and adding and subtracting fractions. The children have also been completing drumming lessons with an external music instructor.
