Elm Class - Term 4

This week, the children have begun thinking about creating their own bread product. They have sampled some different breads and bread products, thinking about their texture, appearance and taste. They have decided what flavours they are going to add to their own bread products. They also used some playdoh to get an idea of what the dough will feel like and some of the shapes they might be able to create with their own bread. Some children tried plaiting or twisting the dough.

This week, we have been learning using number lines in Maths to help us order decimals. We played a game where we needed to try and get 3 in a row on our number lines. We had a visit from Wiltshire Police who talked to us about online safety and how we can keep ourselves self online while demonstrating appropriate behaviour towards others. In PE, we have begun learning a Tudor dance in pairs.

On Thursday this week, we celebrated World Book Day. Take a look at our amazing costumes! We also joined a live lesson from the BBC to help celebrate reading for pleasure. In RE, we did some drama and role-play creating scenarios around the ten commandments, highlighting actions which would be in conflict with them. We have also been busy in PE, where we have been working hard with a coach from Swindon Town FC developing our ball control skills and teamwork.

This week, the children have been doing some Pilates in PE. They have been learning different moves and balances which help to strengthen and develop their core muscles and stability. We added music to the moves and balances and created a story along with them.
