Maple Class - Term 1

Last week, the children were performing patch balances in PE. They performed straddle holds, arcs, dish and cobra balances. In Science, the children were investigating materials and whether they were magnetic. They tested a range of materials against magnets and recorded their findings. In History, the children have been researching Anglo-Saxon settlements and recognising how their places names were chosen by the land usage or characteristics found in the location.

Last week in History, the children identified who the Anglo-Saxons were and why they came to Britain. They role played coming to Britain and experienced the importance of farming to the Anglo-Saxons. In Maths, the children have been looking at place value and finding 1, 10 and 100 more or less than a number. In PE, the children have been creating a range of different balances, both individually and with a partner.
